Engine Compartment

I was asked to post a couple of pictures of the Engine compartment, so as requested, here they are. Thanks!

Here are a few pictures showing the new running Engine. After priming the Carburetor to get the fuel to run through the lines, it started right up. With a few minor tweaks, it is performing perfectly. There were no leaks or any other negative issues that developed. You’ll notice that there are not any Heater or Vacuum Hoses installed. I chose to block off the water ports to eliminate the possibility of any Heater Core leaks when the Car is stored and sitting for long periods of time. All of our OE Cars were done the same way. The Vacuum Hoses will be installed after they are correctly stamped.

Below are photos of the Engine Compartment and the Power Brake Booster installed. This was the last major component that needed to be installed before firing up the Engine. The Booster is an NOS unit that is correctly dated for the vehicle.

NOTE: The Rubber Grommet and Plastic Valve are painted with the Power Brake Booster, at the Factory. We left them un-painted for a cleaner more defined look to the overall assembly. Building a Concept vehicle allowed us to make subtle changes to a few details that were typically Factory protocol.

As requested, here are close ups of the front (Driver Side) Lower Control Arm and the Engine without the Air Cleaner Housing installed. We have changed the incorrect large head Caliper Bolts to the smaller head versions that are original for the 1970 model year. Other small changes are constantly being upgraded and I will post the final photos of those details in the near future. Thanks for the inquiries.

I was recently asked if we had installed the Engine the way it was done at the Factory. As many of you know, the Body was originally lowered onto the Engine/Suspension Assembly. We did this process in a similar manner. Below are few pictures showing the Engine being installed into the vehicle.

Speaking of the “bottom”, that is where many of our forum critics dwell & reside. They don’t understand what it takes to perform the type of work that Professional Automotive Fabricators are involved with. Their only claim to fame is sitting at a keyboard throughout the day, attacking those they feel jealousy towards. They’re bottom scrapers! For those types of people, we thank you for your continued support and obsession with the project. Stayed tuned for new updates as we enter into the Home Stretch of the project! Our planning and Concept Design work turned out just as planned. Our motto has been and will always be……..WHATEVER IT TAKES!
